Freestyle Chess Grand Slam hits the U.S. in Feb 2025 at Wynn Las Vegas, featuring top stars, live coaching, and Chess960 thrills.
The innovative Freestyle Chess Grand Slam Tour is kicking off its highly anticipated U.S. tour at the Wynn Las Vegas Feb. 19-24, 2025. The innovative tournament marries traditional chess with random piece placement (Chess960) and incorporates live team co-play with grandmaster guides, taking competitive play to the next level. Eight of the world's top chess players, including Magnus Carlsen and Hikaru Nakamura, will play on stage in real-time before an audience.
The Las Vegas tournament is the first of four global events in 2025, with other stops planned for Germany, India, and Spain. Backed by World Chess Champion Magnus Carlsen and tech entrepreneur Jan Henric Buettner, the tour will bring high-energy, action-packed chess to the mass sports entertainment audience.
Audiences will be presented with cinematic production, interactive features, and a fresh way of playing chess that is attractive to both veterans and beginners. Tickets are currently available for purchase on the official Freestyle Chess website.
